I know how difficult it is to part with our beloved furkid(s) for a few weeks.
At the same time, you're dying for that much deserved holiday.
Congratulations on rewarding yourself!
Step 1:
Make sure you engage our cat sitter the soonest. You may think that your holiday is months away, but it is always important to book our cat sitter ahead of time so that he or she can pencil you in, especially if you are intending to travel during the popular holiday peak periods. Some sitters may also charge you for a last minute booking, as they need to adjust their whole schedule to cater to your booking.
Before you book your ticket, book your sitter first!
Step 2:
Work on adjusting your cat’s feeding schedule a few weeks or a month prior, that is, if you feed your cat several times a day or at odd hours each day. You will likely engage our cat sitter to come in once or twice a day as it is more affordable, and it is unlikely that the visit to be at the same timing that you usually feed (e.g. if you feed at 6am and 10pm daily, it’s unlikely the sitter will be able to accommodate such a timing). Bear in mind that the cat sitter may not be able to commit a fixed timing daily to visit your cat, as he or she visits by location.
Step 3:
Measure out your cat’s daily food intake.
If you feed your cat twice a day and need to adjust to once a day while you are away, you will need to advise our cat sitter the adjusted amount to feed. Do ensure you have purchased enough food (and some extra) to last throughout your whole holiday. Not enough time to go shopping? Not to fret - we got you covered for a small fee!
If you are worried that your cat has a “vacuum” eating habit (i.e. will gobble up everything at a go) and go hungry for the rest of the day, you can consider getting a slow feed bowl, or an automatic pet feeder to dispense just the kibbles in smaller amounts throughout the day, while the cat sitter feeds the wet food!

Below is an example of how to adjust your cat’s daily intake.
**we always leave a little more dry food in case they get peckish overnight, unless otherwise stated by the pawrent**
The Usual
6am: ½ can wet food + ½ cup dry food
6pm: ½ can wet food + ½ cup dry food
Adjusted Example
Once a day in the afternoon: ½ can wet food + ½ cup dry food
Before leaving: cat sitter to top up ½ can wet food + ½ cup dry food
Step 4:
Leave the rest to us!
Our sitter will update you with pics of your cat(s) and will update you if your cat isn’t eating enough or if your cat is sick.
Enjoy the picture & video updates and enjoy your holiday, knowing your furkid is in good hands!
